No More Money!
We took a quick break during rehearsals to do some financial planning for BEATFACE.
BEATFACE – Done Different
For those who missed us at The Thompson a couple weeks back.
Download: AMY
What?
You don’t already have it? Okay, let’s fix that.
AMY, is the result of some studio experimentation and is basically our thoughts on relationships, personal demons and well, general life stuff. Download the album for free or buy it on iTunes
The Known [Un] Known / Sunday October 2
Yup, we’ve tweeted it, announced it on Facebook, and have been steadily rehearsing for it, so we thought we should say a little something about it on the blog: we’re headlining the first show in a new music series hosted by Toronto’s own Tika Simone (if you don’t already, you want to get to know her).
Last year, Tika created the successful “Intimate & Interactive” series, which gave people a chance to experience a different side of some of Toronto’s favourite artists. This year, she’s decided to switch things up a bit, and has and has renamed the series “The Known [Un] Known”.
Tika has been hearing about us for a while, but when she finally got a chance to check out AMY, she hit us up right away and explained what she wanted to do with The Known [Un] Known. It’s similar to Intimate & Interactive but with a twist: the headlining act (ahem, that would be us) already has a dedicated following (ahem, that would be you), but would appeal to a larger audience if they just had the right introduction…
The Known [Un] Known is aiming to do with this series what we do with our music: bend the genre, try something new, and bring you something different. When we heard those were the goals, we knew that this show would be great one and signed on right away. In addition to a full set by us, the show is also a spotlight for other acts that you may not have heard of, but will want to hear more from once you hear them on Sunday.

This is what happens when Book and Jonny start getting all deep and contemplative:
We want to be awesome
You know when you go into a Pizza Pizza and you see music videos playing on giant flat screens? Wouldn’t it be awesome if you saw our video?
Yup. This is a shameless plug.
As we approach 1000 views on YouTube, we are now aiming to be on 200 screens, but we need your adoration and about 4 minutes of your time. The good folks over at Pizza Pizza will happily add our video to their PPTV network, but only if we get 20 likes on their link. That’s all. 20 likes and we’ll be “awesome”.
You just need to click this sentence.
Think about it: in just a few weeks, you could be standing in line ordering a medium pizza to go, you’ll glance up at the screen and BAM! Our video will be playing.
Then, you can stand up on the counter and tell everyone in the restaurant that YOU were responsible for making us awesome!*
(*we should warn you that standing on the counter in any establishment could result in you getting tossed out of the restaurant and without your pizza, just sayin’)
